Tasmanian Revenue Online (TRO) is a secure web-based system developed by the State Revenue Office for taxpayers paying Payroll Tax, Insurance Duty, and Duty Instruments.
Access to TRO
TRO is available to:
registrants liable for payroll tax;
registered insurers and their representatives; and
legal practitioners, financial institutions and other organisations that are approved to assess and remit the duty payable on a range of legal documents and transactions for Tasmania.
Payroll Tax and Insurance Duty
The latest version of TRO has been designed for payroll tax and insurance duty account holders to:
lodge and amend monthly and annual returns;
receive assessment notices and communication from the SRO electronically; and
pay state taxes.

Duty Instruments and Land Tax Search
Using the new TRO homepage, existing account holders can access the earlier version of TRO for their Property Transfer Duty and other Duty Instruments, or to make a Land Tax Search. The homepage also enables taxpayers to register as a new TRO user and to establish an account. The redesign of the new TRO website to incorporate Duty Instruments and Land Tax Search is expected to be released in mid-2017.
